This painting won the award for Best Painting by a Maryland Artist at the 2016 Plein Air Easton competition. Superficially, I was drawn to the shapes of the structures but I was also taken by the idea of town and country or man and nature coming together in a symbiotic relationship. The bird nest at the top of the tower is another example of symbiosis. That nest has been there for years, peacefully co-existing with the agri-business that owns it's home.
